Deposits and tips
Prepay records a deposit the client paid before the visit; Tip records what they added at the end. Here is how each is counted and shown.
Both fields sit on the appointment form under Cost, next to the price. They answer two different questions: has some of this already been paid? and did the client add anything on top?
Prepay (deposit)
- Enter the Price of the visit as usual.
- In Prepay, enter the amount the client paid in advance.
- The appointment shows the price with the deposit in brackets — 80 (20) — in the day’s list and the client’s history.
A deposit is part of the price, so revenue does not go up when you record one. On the appointment details screen (iPhone) the money card works it out for you: Price, Deposit, and the bottom line — Balance due for what is still owed, or Change due if the deposit was more than the price.
Tip
Enter it in Tip after the visit. Tips are added on top of the price in revenue, listed separately on the dashboard (“incl. tips”), shown on the day’s footer, and left out of the average price.
Where deposits and tips appear
- Client list filter Payment → Has prepay — everyone who has ever left a deposit.
- Reports list Prepay and Tip totals for the period.
- CSV export has a Prepay column on both platforms and a Tip column on iPhone.
Good to know
- The app does not take payments. Prepay and Tip are bookkeeping fields; the money moves the way it always did — cash, transfer, card at the counter.
- A deposit does not stop a client from being marked as a no-show — nothing does; the app has no attendance status. Deleting the appointment removes its income; keeping it with the deposit as the price records what you actually kept.
